2. Field Trip Music & Art Festival | When: July 9 | Where: Historic Fort York and Garrison Common

Here you will find all the hottest alternative, roots and indie acts which take over the grassy field of Fort York National Historic Site. It’s music-loving fun for the whole family! There are food trucks, a kid’s camp where they can create art or even catch a show on the kids’ stage!

3. Explore Toronto Island! | When: All Summer Long | Where: Take the Ferry to Toronto Island

Grab a bike, or walk this beautiful place, there is so much to explore! Fun for the entire family, Toronto Island has a petting zoo, beaches, splash pads, bike rentals, an amusement park and the list goes on.

4. CNE Toronto! | When: August 8 – September 4 | Where: Exhibition Place

Let’s Go To The Ex, Oh Baby! Dating back almost 150 years, The Canadian National Exhibition is Canada’s biggest annual fair. Don’t miss this iconic event, there is so much to see, eat and do! Check out live music performances, exhibitions on arts and crafts, home and garden, and world cultures.  There are markets and shopping as well as special exhibitions such as displays of National Geographic photography, topiary displays and end-of-summer garden shows. Don’t forget to also grab a corn dog or two!!

5. Toronto Caribbean Carnival | When: August 3 – 7 | Where: Downtown Toronto

Toronto’s Caribbean Carnival is a colourful celebration of the hundreds of thousands of Jamaicans, Trinidadians, Haitians, Dominicans, Bermudans and Guyanans who make up the city’s Afro-Caribbean community. The festival fills the City with sounds of reggae, calypso, tassa, zouk, rap and salsa. Experience the delicious scents and flavours of West Indian cuisine, and don’t miss the crowning of the Carnival King and Queen!
