Q+A with Danuta Zwicewicz, Creator and Owner, Stardust Cards
Q. Tell us about your business Stardust Cards? Are you strictly online?
A. I create handcrafted one of a kind greeting cards, for approximately 45 categories. I also specialize in custom cards for clients, which is specific to their personalities. This can incorporate their picture, their interests (fashion, hobbies etc.) I like to know a little something about who I am making the card for, their favorite colors, flowers, butterflies etc. I am in the process of developing a web site. Presently I do have my cards on Instagram @stardust.cards. I participate in craft shows throughout the year and a great deal of my business is word of mouth.
Q. What made you want to start your business?
A. I worked in the music industry for many years and always made cards for the staff and all my friends. I have always had a creative side and never hesitated to try something new. After I retired, I was speaking with a friend and he asked me what I love to do, I then realized that was my ah-ha moment, he came up with the name, and off I went!
Q. What products do you make?
A. Besides greeting cards, I customize framed 3D pictures. I create Birthday Party Loot Bags, so kids can make their own cards, I include everything they need. I decorate small gift boxes that are food safe, which sell well at Christmas, Easter, and Valentine’s Day.
Q. How can people contact you for orders? Christmas is around the corner!
A. I am now very eagerly making Christmas cards and have a craft show booked for December so far. People can reach me at stardustcards.dz@gmail.com
Q. You are a Mimico resident, how long have you lived here, and what do you love most about it?
A. I love Mimico, I have lived here 15 years. I bought my first house here. I find a great many artistic people in this area. I love the quaint Ma and Pa shops. I feel safe, love my garden, my neighbors, it’s a close community. I suppose I’m just a West End Girl.
