Alderwood
Lanor Junior Middle School
One of the smaller schools in the South Etobicoke area with roughly 300 students, Lanor JMS is part of the Steam program (science, technology, and math with art included). Servicing mostly the immediate diverse area they are joined by students from Sir Adam Beck Junior School starting in Grade 6.

St. Ambrose Catholic School
The Catholic Christian based school has enrolment from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8. Having been through a couple of expansions, the Alderwood school continues to grow with the influx of new families moving to the area.

Sir Adam Beck Junior School
Sir Adam Beck Junior School offers dual-track Early French Immersion and English programs from kindergarten to fifth grade. The school is a partner in the Alderwood Centre with the Toronto Public Library, Toronto Parks and Recreation, and the Alderwood Daycare. At Sir Adam Beck Junior School, students gain academic proficiency, build self-confidence, and gain an understanding of social responsibility.

Mimico
George R. Gauld Junior School
The small school located in Mimico Village and services grades JK to 5. Children get to benefit from the attention everyone gets due to the smaller scale of the school. Early Adventures Daycare also shares space with the school offering a one stop drop off/pickup point for parents.

David Hornell Junior School
David Hornell Junior School is a JK-5 facility originally built in 1961 in Mimico and close to Lake Ontario. Another very diverse Etobicoke school, a lot of families moving to South Etobicoke enjoy knowing there are families like them and, at the same time, unlike them collaborating and learning from one another at schools like David Hornell.

John English Junior Middle School
John English Junior Middle School is another JK-8 school and is located on Mimico Avenue. The original John English Junior Middle school was built as a one-room brick building in 1884, since having moved and become one of Etobicoke’s most impressive multi-faceted learning environments. Serving over 900 students of several different languages, John English has an auditorium, cafeteria, gymnasium, and many other specialized learning environments. French Immersion is available from JK to Grade 8.

St. Leo’s
Currently the students are being bussed to the old Christ the King location in Long Branch. A new building on the original site will be constructed and hopefully open for 2023. The school will have a variety of play areas as well as a hard surface area and teaching garden. French Immersion is available from Jk-Grade 8.

New Toronto
Second Street Junior Middle School
Located in New Toronto, Second Street Middle School offers JK to Grade 8 with early French Immersion entry. The school completed renovations in 1996 and features a large fenced off park with playground. Before and after school programs are available as well as YMCA daycare programs.

One of the smaller schools in Etobicoke, Seventh Street JS has been operating in New Toronto for a century from Jk to Grade 5. Before and after school program as well as daycare programs are available in collaboration with LCCC.

Twentieth Street Junior School
Twentieth Street Junior School has been serving Etobicoke since 1920, with a rich history and a location overlooking Lake Ontario. In addition to in-class education, this school is also close to community recreation facilities including the Gus Ryder Pool and Master Card Centre Arena. Twentieth Street Junior School is a great school for newcomers to the area looking for quality education.

St. Josaphat
Previously located in Long Branch, St. Josaphat relocated to the New Toronto neighbourhood in 2017. The school follows Eastern Rite traditions with the Ukrainian language being interwoven with its teachings. Students Grade 1 – 8 spend 1/2 hour each today learning the Ukrainian language.

Bordering between Long Branch and New Toronto, The Holy Trinity Catholic School is situated on the beautiful grounds of Colonel Sam Smith Park. The school focusses on the three A’s: Athetics, Academics and The Arts. Built in 2018 the newly constructed building houses the amalgamated schools of Christ the King and St. Teresa. Enrolment is from JK to Grade 8.
