It’s already mid-February and to be honest we’re living for this mild weather! If you’re looking for some ideas you can do this long weekend keep on reading!
We’ve put together some fun family-filled ideas to keep you all busy this long weekend! Have Fun!!
1. Grab those Skates!
There are many places to go skating that are FREE in the City! One of the coolest places that you can now skate is at the Downsview Hangar! There are live DJs in the evenings, free skating lessons in the afternoons, and a special Family Day program! More info here
If you’re in South Etobicoke, check out the skating trail at Colonel Sam Smith Park or Prince of Wales Rink! If you feel like checking out the City lights at night, head downtown to Harbourfront Centre Rink.
2. Cook Together!
This can be as simple as making a homemade pizza or getting super fancy and stuffing some chicken with cheese and spinach! The kids will enjoy cutting things up and what better way to bond than over a meal you have all chipped in to make! Bon Appetit!
3. Get Lost in the Winter Maze at Evergreen Brickworks!
This giant 120’x120’ maze has unlimited carnival rides, outdoor games, a hot chocolate bar, music, marshmallow fire pits, photo opportunities, scavenger hunt with prizes and more. How fun!! Don’t forget that you can also explore the trails, or bring your skates to skate through the snow-covered gardens! More info here

4. Check out the Winter Stations at Woodbine Beach
The Winter Stations are back at Woodbine Beach! Launched by RAW Design, Ferris + Associates and Curio in 2015, the competition captures the imagination of local and international designers, inviting them to transform the lifeguard stations along Toronto’s east-end beaches into whimsical works of public art. The six winning installations, selected amongst hundreds of submissions from around the world, will be displayed along Woodbine beach starting February 20th and runs until March 20th. 5. Walk + Warm Drink!
Grab a warm beverage from one of our favourite local coffee shops and head to the Martin Goodman Trail to enjoy the beautiful sights of the Lake and City. Bring some seeds, oats or grapes to feed the ducks! You may be lucky enough to also catch the sights of the beaver that hangs around Amos Waites Park!
6. Check out a Marlies Game!
The Marlies are in town on February 18th and 20th! Grab your Toronto Gear and best hockey buds, and head to the game for a fun filled afternoon! Get your tickets here
However you decide to spend your Family Day weekend, we hope you have the best time together!
